My sister in law is expecting a girl in a couple of months, and your posts just make the waiting worse. And your son is all eyes. And I love stripes. Moving on now. Reply mari December 22, 2011 at 7:15 am I had one of those as a kid! And, unfortunately, my parents’ idea of “easy kid cleanup” was not to wrap me in a giant smock, but to let me paint naked. I have the embarrassing photos to prove it… Reply Making it Lovely December 22, 2011 at 11:58 am That’s smart! I bet the photos are pretty darn adorable. Reply Melissa December 22, 2011 at 8:33 am Love love love it! She looks hard at work and that lil smock is so cute on her. Reply Jules December 22, 2011 at 8:53 am She looks EXACTLY like you in these pictures! Gus, not so much. Strange, because I always thought he and Eleanor looked the same, but with different noses. Isn’t it weird how a different camera angle can change the way someone looks, or bring out their different features? Reply Making it Lovely December 22, 2011 at 12:05 pm I always think Gus looks more like me than Eleanor does, but I see me and Brandon in both of them. Reply Caitlin @ Hardly Housewives December 22, 2011 at 9:19 am SO CUTE! Look at that focus! Reply samarahuel December 22, 2011 at 9:46 am Am I a bad mom? Because my first thought when I see these photos is, “How fun! We should do that,” but the second thought is, “But what about the mess? Is she not worried about the rug?” Also, I commend you that August looks as well-dressed as Eleanor always does. As a mom of two young boys, I’ve found it hard to find nice-looking boys’ clothes. I admit to fawning over little pink coats and purple dresses and sparkly shoes at stores…why does it seem that girls get all the cute stuff? Reply Making it Lovely December 26, 2011 at 12:30 am Girls’ clothes are always better than the boys’. It takes a lot more digging to find the stuff that isn’t covered in sports, vehicles, and licensed characters! Reply Sanja December 22, 2011 at 10:15 am They are sooo cute and dedicated :) Happy holidays! Reply Sara December 22, 2011 at 10:16 am I love her hair! They are both so sweet. Reply Alex December 22, 2011 at 10:23 am Where is August’s shirt from? It is adorable. Reply Making it Lovely December 26, 2011 at 12:31 am The Children’s Place. A friend of mine just recently forwarded me a website where you can scan in your children’s art onto canvases. I imagine that you could do that at any site like that and your daughter’s little master piece reminded me of it. Reply Making it Lovely December 26, 2011 at 12:32 am What a good idea! I saved this one because I liked it. Kind of chic with the all black look, right? Reply Katrina December 22, 2011 at 11:01 am so darling :) Reply Jen @ Rambling Renovators December 22, 2011 at 11:02 am I love the little setup you have… easel, apron, wipeable floor! Eleanor looks so focused on her craft. Is Eleanor a lefty? So’s my Chloe. Reply Making it Lovely December 26, 2011 at 12:33 am We think she’s a lefty, but she still switches and used the right hand sometimes too, so we’re not sure yet. Reply Danielle December 22, 2011 at 11:11 am Very abstract! Love it! Reply jbhat December 22, 2011 at 11:15 am Oh no! August just spilled all the black! There is some serious cuteness happening with those two. jbhat Reply Making it Lovely December 22, 2011 at 11:19 am Uh huh, did you catch that? :) The paint is very thick, so luckily it didn’t really spill. He did get paint all over his hand though, which he then smeared immediately on his face! Reply Nadine December 22, 2011 at 11:33 am I can totally see you in your daughter (: did she look like you when you were her age? :D Reply Making it Lovely December 26, 2011 at 12:33 am I think so. I should find some old pictures of me… Reply Melissa December 22, 2011 at 11:52 am So cute! Her apron is adorable :) Reply Mandi December 22, 2011 at 1:09 pm Is it wrong that I kind of desperately want your daughter’s haircut? So cute! Reply Sasha December 22, 2011 at 1:50 pm Adorbs!Your kiddos are too cute! Reply Miss B. December 22, 2011 at 3:51 pm These photographs are so sweet and here artwork is like Franz Kline, did she choose the black on her own? So modern! Reply Making it Lovely December 22, 2011 at 3:54 pm Isn’t she on to something? I kept asking if she wanted to use another color (like her other paintings have had), but she insisted that this was to be just black. (p.s. These photos were with the nifty fifty. Thanks again!) Reply Heather B December 22, 2011 at 4:47 pm I love to look of intense concentration in the first pic. She’s VERY serious about her art! Reply Christina W. December 22, 2011 at 11:39 pm I feel like this is weird, but I am totally jealous of a toddler’s haircut right now! Reply Emma December 23, 2011 at 5:06 pm What a lovely photo story these images make – such a wonderful moment beautifully captured :o) Reply bethany December 23, 2011 at 11:23 pm I can tell from the photos that Eleanor is already a natural with a paintbrush. So funny, my sister-in-law is an interior designer and artist, and her daughter (3) is naturally drawn to art, too. She was obsessed with coloring and art from day one. It’s so exciting to me to see really young children become fascinated with art, especially if their parents are artists. As an artist and writer myself, and my husband, who is a musician, we’re looking forward to seeing our kids (that we will have someday, but NOT today) discover their interests. I wonder what they will inherit from us? :) Reply [email protected] December 29, 2011 at 11:39 am I love how intensely she seems to be concentrating. So [email protected] Reply DaniMakes January 6, 2012 at 12:14 am I see a bird in a nest in that second picture! wonderful! It’s so important to keep feeding that creativity… Leave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. .
