The only thing I bought, these amazing brass lampshades ($45 for both), didn’t work in my house. I knew they’d either be really good or really bad, and I think they skewed toward the latter. And then we looked around a bit more. I’m kind of kicking myself for not picking up a few more things, but there’s only so much room for vintage dinnerware in our house.

I wish I would have gone to this! We live just outside Chicago and took a trip into the city that Saturday for our Valentines Date (MCA and Grand Lux Cafe!) We should have stopped at the bazaar too. Are these reoccurring events?

Holy crap, if I lived in Chicago I would eat at Big Star every day. Which is probably not a good thing. It’s the one place that we always make sure to visit when we are in town.

Oh, how I love Big Star. I spend a lot of days in the summer eating guacamole and drinking mexican cokes on their patio (gotta love a teacher’s schedule).

Sorry the lampshades didn’t work out – I still can’t believe I parted with them – they need a very specific base, though. Glad to hear they are going to a good home!
