Bloggers’ Favorite Things for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is almost here! To offer up a few gift ideas, Stefanie of and Jen of arranged a blogger gift exchange, and have created an accompanying gift guide. The whole exchange was a lot of fun. while she and her husband were in town this weekend (!), but usually we all don’t get to see each other very often. Instead, we keep up with each other via social media and email, or just by following along with each other’s blogs. Getting a little surprise in the mail from a friend is such a nice way to stay connected.

The exchange was done Secret Santa style between a group of us home/design bloggers who also happen to be moms: • • • • • • • • • • •

If you search you can see everything! Several companies also generously sent us gifts: • • • • • •

I sent a few of my favorite things to Nya of , like some decorative spiky goldy urchin ball things (because: shiny), a along with (they come in the prettiest colors), and an awesome card by . I sent Nya a too, because I always think those things are funny. Her daughter stole it immediately and claimed it as her own, which really, was to be expected.

Kate of was my secret match, and I love the thoughtful goodies she sent my way. Chocolate (which was eaten far too quickly), personalized pink pencils and a Kate Spade pencil pouch with a glasses print, a makeup primer (because in her words, “who wouldn’t want to look five years younger?”).

Holy [email protected], I’m just stunned that I finally know FC’s REAL name! I’ve been reading her blog for 5+ years and always wondered. My mind is blown.

I STILL stare at those gold urchins daily! Thanks so much, Nicole, for the best gifts. I love them to pieces! It’s been such a treat interacting with everyone during this exchange. Still searching for that finger puppet….. ;-)

That chocolate looks delectable – no wonder it disappeared quickly, I’d do the same!

Ok… fellow pen junkie here. If you love LePen, I think you should try Staedtler tri fineliners. LePens are great, but they’re not waterproof, or even water resistant, which I found frustrating. The Staedtlers also come in a beautiful range of colors, and I love the feel of the tip– just a tiny bit more give. Also, if you leave it uncapped for a few days, it doesn’t dry out. The barrel is also slightly triangular, which makes it very nice to hold. Dick Blick has a great range of colors (and you can buy them individually which is a !):

You can also buy the standard 20 pack (or 10 pack) on Amazon:

Oh! And one more ! The plastic case folds back to make a very convenient stand. Seriously, the best pens in the world!

I just tried the raspberries in dark chocolate the other day and oh boy was it good! It was gone in one sitting! With the help of a few other people. :) I love the card you sent. So great!
